For my 4th installment to the Mini Mix Series, I chose to tackle the style of music that this entire series derived from, soul.  After a few conversations with my good friend and PR, Graciela, the idea of making mixes "for the people" based on music I listen to on a regular basis was born.  The idea was to revisit my "Slow Jamz" mix and put together a piece that would encompass true "feel good" music. After dropping three mini mixes already, it was about that time to make this one happen.  Soul music plays a huge role in what I do because it's the one style of music that will grab me every single time I hear it and I hope this mix does the same for you.

"Paid Dues", the lead single for Esohel & Ricky Dub's forthcoming project 'On Purpose With A Purpose', features Brooklyn's female spitter Nitty Scott MC, whom alongside Esohel trade bars schooling rappers on the notion that paying dues is not about money, but more about the grind and work ethic which both artist hold to be most valuable.

Inspiration for 'OPWAP' came from the chemistry built from Esohel's live shows that are assisted by his DJ, Ricky Dubs. After rocking shows together, the need to translate the live energy into a studio LP was inevitable. To solidify that, "On Purpose With A Purpose" was created. Scheme and DJ Scend get together to drop a new Remake by the name of Young Chavez in honor of the great boxer Julio Cesar Chavez. Scheme wanted to go in a couple rounds on a beat and decided on the Cookin Soul production piece for the Remake; while DJ Scend assisted with the cuts.
