PRESS: DJ Scend featured on RubyHornet.com

"The one thing about Scend that I remember from that first meeting was his passion for Scheme's project, as well as for DJing. "This is all I want to do," I remember him repeating several times..." - DJ RTChttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif

My big homie DJ RTC from Ruby Hornet hit me up to do an interview with me earlier this week. I really liked this particular interviewer since he already knows me and we have been fam for over 2 yrs now. He asked me questions that were not really typical of a standard interview.

Please take a minute to read and show the interview some love!

EVENT: Life That I Chose - T-Shirt Release

The date for the “Life That I Chose” Release Party is getting closer. This Friday Nov. 25th, we’ll be celebrating the release of the new EP at Akin (South Location – 1313 S. Halsted). We will have a limited amount of albums on sale that day, as well as a brand new T-Shirt which we collaborated on with Akin. Matthew Silva designed the T-Shirt. We decided to collaborate on a Shirt that would fit the EP (what more can you ask for than the title of the EP as the foundation of the shirt?), and something that would resonate with the Sneaker crowd (since the Jordan 3′s Black Cements will be releasing at Midnight the night of the release party at Akin); we figured the “Life That I Chose” motto can definitely be something the real sneaker collector can relate to.

Below is a picture of the T-Shirt we will be releasing THIS FRIDAY at Akin. The shirt is Limited Edition since only 50 shirts will be on sale that day. Make sure you get there early to get your hands on one. The night kicks off at 9pm and it continues on to the midnight as the Jordan 3s Black Cements release at Akin. Below is the flyer for the Release Party and the image of the “Life That I Chose” T-Shirt (CLICK the Image to Enlarge Photo).

AUDIO: Scheme - L.O.R.D. Knows (Remake)

Let me start by saying excuse my profanity on this post...

My man Scheme went CRAZY on this "Lord Knows" remake. We both heard this beat that Just Blaze did for Drake's new album that leaked this week and we immediately said he needed to rap over it.

I'm so happy that Scheme decided to show the world that he's a beast on any mic level. This one is our dedication to anyone who thinks we ain't good enough to be in this game. Get the fuck outta here man! Just listen to this and see what I mean. Holy wow!

AUDIO: For Lil' Lady (House Mix)

With the recent talks about me doing some dj gigs out in Spain, yes I said SPAIN, I dug up 2 old house music mixes of mine from 2009. For those who don't know, I actually started breaking into the Chicago scene as a house dj and once people found out I was actually a hip hop kid too, well, that's where I'm at now haha

Anyway this was a mix I made for a friend of mine back in '09 and she loved it so much that I realized it was dope enough to use as a promo tool, so here it is. Please take a listen, download it for FREE and share with your friends!

EVENT: Feature piece on ChicagoHustles.com

I met the homie Durte Rebelz about 2 yrs back at a dj gig I was spinning. He was one of thee only people in the spot who actually knew half the shit I was spinning since it was a club style night and I was getting it in on the hip hop tip lol

Anyway, the homie has been a huge supporter of mine ever since and when he asked if he could do a piece on me for his new online magazine titled CHICAGO HUSTLES it was a no brainer for me.

He wrote some really great things about me including my thoughts on what "hustle" means to me.
