MUSIC: Hello (What Up?)

After what seems to have been the longest and shortest summer months I've experienced to date, I am proud to say SRNC will be releasing the 1st single off Scheme's "Life That I Chose" EP titled "Hello (What Up?)"

The joint is produced by the homie Slot-A who also produced the entire EP. The homie Astonish is featured on the hook and I laid down some simple cuts for it as well. All in all, this is going to be a great joint to release as our first single for the project. Cover art was done by the homie Matthew Silva. The model used is our lovely friend Michelle Pantel and was originally photographed by McLaren Soriano.

Don't forget, "Life That I Chose" EP drops December 6th so please mark the date and be ready for the madness.

Here is the official release info for "Hello (What Up?)":

"Well the time is getting closer for “Life That I Chose” to be released. On Nov. 1st, 2011 we’ll be releasing the 1st single which is called “Hello (What Up?)” featuring Astonish (produced by Slot-A). The homie DJ Scend also put some work on the record by adding some cuts. Expect the single to drop online and on iTunes on Nov. 1st. For now check out the artwork below which was created by Matthew Silva. The cover features Michelle Pantel and the photography was handled by MCLAREN SORIANO."

MUSIC: 1st Day of Mix Downs

So last night, the homie Scheme and I took a ride over by Slot-A's crib to start the mix down process for the "Life That I Chose" EP. We were working on one track in particular, adding some last minute vocals and harmonic layering. Slot was adding some real dope west coast style vibes to certain breaks and the bridge while I was getting my Jon B on with some vocal harmonic overlays lol...

I was taking a pic of our beautiful city from a 6th floor view point and it was one of those moments that made me think about all the crazy shit my entire SRNC family has been going thru, in particular this last month with all these projects, and how proud I am to be on a team that's so dedicated to success, cuz I know I sure am...

MUSIC: Cashmere Sweater Music Vol 1

I woke up this morning feeling so high from last night's set at Beauty Bar (shout outs to RTC, YungGroupon, Tony, Scheme, Short, and all the beautiful bunnies who showed love). I was dropping everything I normally use to sample or just chill out to. It was great!

My fellow dj brethren Thats Broadway dropped a dope mix my way via Twitter last night and man it brought me right back to my set from last night. I encourage all of y'all reading this to take a listen, it's an educational tool for learning about GOOD MUSIC.

Salute fam! We need to do a gig together soon, I believe we would murder shit in the humblest way lol ....PHLI x SRNC #JustSayin

RANDOM: Positive Reminders

So I wake up late as hell for work this morning (came in almost 2 hrs late) and see a text from the homie DJ RTC saying "yo our event made it to page 2 of the Red Eye today". It didn't really hit til after I took a shower that I had finally got my name in print in the Red Eye here in Chicago.

To some this would be no big deal, but for me this is another one of those moments where the smallest things make the biggest impact in my life. It was very dope to be able to be a guest dj for an opening night like this one.

Don't ever give up on your own hustle! When you get those "wins" in your career use them to fuel the next one, don't just sit on them. I always sound like a damn fortune cookie when I say this shit but it's for great reason.

The moment you feel you "made it" is the moment you just ended your own career....

EVENT: Latino Fashion Week 2011 **EARLY WARNING**

So yesterday I met up with the SRNC fam Scheme and Jessie to check out the location for the 2011 Latino Fashion Week happening next month (November). I can’t say where the spot is at just yet, but it’s a local art gallery that allows local artists to work and display their works. This spot was HUGE man! We starting discussing the presentation we will be performing for under the Estrada 31 clothing brand and I really feel this is gonna be a new level for the entire SRNc family. More details to come but I wanted to post a few pics of the art I was able to snap shots of during our tour of the place…

EVENT: Black Friday 2011

As most of the nation spends the day after Thanksgiving recovering from a food binge and early morning shopping madness, the SRNC team will be launching a big first step in expanding our company. For the sneaker heads of the world, y'all know the release of the Jordan 3 Cement Greys are due at midnight on Black Friday (November 25).

We linked up with the Akin family and have something really special in store for everyone. For our fans and followers, you may have noticed "Life That I Chose" being tagged in a lot of our posts and it's for good reason. Scheme will be releasing his next project, titled "Life That I Chose", an EP project produced solely by the homie Slot-A.

At this point all I can share is the fact that the above mentioned items will all be streamlined and make sense come closer to the date! I am personally beyond geeked for the entire project we have in our hands at the moment and I wish I could spill the news, but good things come to those that wait :) ......
